Ben also forms one half of the writing team Hedger & Nicholson. As well as currently writing two musicals the pair founded and run "Home Grown", a not-for-profit organization that supports Australian Music Theatre writers. “Worth the Breath: An evening with Hedger & Nicholson” featured as part of the Chapel Off Chapel 20th Anniversary celebrations; and their latest piece, “Hook Up”, opened to rave reviews as part of the 2014 Melbourne Fringe and was accepted as part of the 2015 New Musicals Australia program at the Hayes Theatre Co in Sydney. It was also performed at the National Theatre by Patrick Studios Australia Music Theatre in July 2015.
